Children in developing countries often grow up barefoot. Many are not allowed to attend school without shoes and they are often injured or exposed to harmful minerals, which can lead to serious medical conditions. On April 5th and 6th you will have the opportunity to go barefoot during social studies class to help raise awareness of what children in developing countries face everyday. While it might sound like fun to go without shoes during class, think about what it would be like if you had to go barefoot for miles while you walk to school, get clean water or find medical help. Click here for more information: A Day Without Shoes . Go to Events, Find an Event, Barefoot Learning at Eubanks, if you would like to sign up.
This is Jessica Lee...I learned that nuclear fuel is generated from radioactive materials, such as Uranium! I had no idea what uranium was so i had to look it up it is...is a silvery-white metallic chemical element in the actinide series of the periodic table with atomic number 92. It is assigned the chemical symbol U. A uranium atom has 92 protons and 92 electrons. 6 of the latter are valence electrons.Wow i learned alot today!!

Hello Mrs.Sparks!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Maggie Eames reporting from her kitchen at her house. I just went onto the new website geo-cube!!!! It is an awesome website!!!! So I went to the cube link " Species Extinction " and found out some interesting facts. Did you know that every year we lose 1% of all species, mostly because of their living conditions? In the last 3.5 billion years 99% of all existing species disappeared. Mostly because of human activities, 12% of birds, 25% of mammals, and 33% of fish species are endangered. WOW!!! I never knew that all of those animals were endangered!!!! Maybe we should keep a closer eye on some endangered species!!! Well I hope you liked my short report on "Species Extinction"!!!!!!
Once again this is Maggie Eames reporting from her kitchen at her house!!!!
P.S. sorry for the late entry!!!!!

ReplyDeleteHello its Nicole from Mrs. Prices homeroom. I read the story about Oceans and Seas. I think that its weird that the earth is 70% water and that oceans and seas are 97% of our water supply. I also think that its cool that the Oceans and Seas obsorbs the suns damaging raze and store it as heat energy. I think that that is a very educational. I plan on reading more of them.
ReplyDeleteHey mrs.Sparks this is Jared Williams from Mrs.Price's class. I learned so much on geo-cube tonight. Since I loved to tour the world I clicked on the cube tourism. I learned that in 2007, the tourism population increased by 903 million people. Thats 6.5% since 2006. Thanks for posting up the site, It was so much fun to read about.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs. Sparks!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Natalie Ton-nu from Mrs. Price's class.
I am writing from my dad's desktop in his room. I just got back from the geo cube and it is really, honestly, really cool. i learned some new words about earth, so instead of saying the "water body of earth" i could call it the hydrosphere. Did you know, you problably already do, that the word biosphere is another word for flora and fauna? i also learned a lot about war. Not my all time favorite subject, but, hey, it was my brother's idea, not mine. Typical boy.
Hello Mrs. Sparks! This is Anna Wellander writing to you after a long day of well...school! I just visited the geo-cube webiste and I was amazed! I read/learned about the hole in the ozone layer. I never knew that our pollution and simple everyday things could make such a difference! I have started to use my reusable water bottles more and turning off my lights earlier. I also got my family to participate in the 'Earth Hour' movement. I am anxious to know how much energy was saved! I am looking forward to Social Studies class for 'Barefoot Day' on Thurday! Too bad it can't last all day.... [: Well....bye!
