Marathon Training

2016
I spent the spring running a few races and then switched gears to cycling.  Just finished riding 430 miles across Iowa at an event called RAGBRAI.  Climbed almost 20,000 feet of hills while riding from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River. Whew....it was a tough 7 days.  Now I am back to marathon training.  Thinking about the California International Marathon again.  Most likely will not focus on myself but rather spend the time running with and coaching a dear friend who is attempting her first marathon.

2015
After a grueling but exciting year on the trails, I won the Female Master's Division of the Texas Trail Championship Series.   Now I am headed back to the roads!  I have been accepted to the Boston Marathon!!!  Wooohooo!  It has been 15 years since I ran my last Boston Marathon and I'm super excited about going back.

2014
Trail running is my focus for 2014.  I am currently in first place in my age group for the Texas Trail Championship Series.  My next race is a hot and hilly trail marathon near Glen Rose Texas.  I am working my way to a 50K (31 miles) race through Palo Duro Canyon in October.

2012
Let the training begin!  I plan to run a marathon in December.  A marathon is a 26.2 mile race and this will be my 10th marathon.  I usually take 16 weeks to prepare and I plan to post some of my training runs from my Garmin (a GPS watch) here.  It will show you the map of where I ran, my pace, the elevation and other interesting information.  I will either be running the White Rock Marathon in Dallas or the California International Marathon in Sacremento, California.  I can't wait!!!!
