It's been a busy summer. Oklahoma, Colorado, Georgia (to see my son at Army Basic Training), St. Maarten and Japan where I climbed Mt. Fuji!!! Enjoy the video.
Did you know…. Mt. Fuji is a VOLCANO! *The last eruption began in November 1707 *It's been dormant since February 1708 *It's 12,388.45 feet high *or 2.34 miles above sea level at the top *The temperature averages 40.8 degrees F in July *A torii, a traditional Japanese gate which symbolically marks the transition toward holiness, is found at the summit. *Considered a sacred mountain by the Japanese, about 200,000 people climb it every year. *The forest at the base of the mountain is named Aokigahara. Folk tales and legends tell of demons, ghosts, and goblins haunting the forest.
I am glad you are here. I can't wait to get to know you and I look forward to meeting you at Meet the Teacher Night on August 19. Please feel free to comment on this post, introduce yourself and let me know what you did over the summer. You can also check out my Wikispace using the link to the right. We are going to have an awesome year exploring the world!
Fabulous lesson from the World War II Museum in New Orleans! They helped us examine political cartoons by Dr. Seuss, answered questions and gave us a tour of the museum.
Dear School Board Members: Thanks for making Eubanks Intermediate and Carroll ISD an outstanding place to work and to learn. We appreciate the time, effort and dedication you give to provide our children with the best possible education. It takes a very special person to volunteer to serve on the school board and we appreciate all of you!! Many thanks to our wonderful school board!!!
